The thing is, while we're in that exciting birth phase, we rarely think of the day to day tasks that will bring us to what we truly envision.
Reality hits you like a ton of (soul-crushing) bricks. You realized that as a business owner, you don't just roll out of bed at any given time, you work every day, all day. There isn't a team yet, its just you and maybe a business partner, maybe even your kids or spouse. You work from the car, the couch, your bed anywhere that has great wifi because girl, you are constantly on the go. But here is the peak of the mountain, it's YOUR business! And just like a baby, there will be great days, hard days, emotional days, rewarding days but every day is worth celebrating because it's yours.
How do you keep up the momentum? How do you Level up and make sure that the valleys don't knock you down? That you remain on the top of your game constantly learning and growing. Here are 5 tips that will keep your business running strong.
Create SYSTEMS & PLANS so you know where you are going and why it is important
Most entrepreneurs are visionaries. You see the outcome clear as day, you know what you want and where you are going but you have no idea how to get there. At times this can discourage you, but creating context around your goals on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis will really help to navigate the trajectory of your business and help you remember your why. We love using the Outlook Calendar, its shareable if you have a team and it keeps you on track with daily and weekly goals. One of our favorite apps to use is UNUM, this app allows you to plan out your IG content weeks at a time. This really helps you to stay consistent and aesthetically pleasing to your followers.
2. Gain CLARITY on the right things to be doing right now in your business
You want to do it all, I know, I feel you on that. But trying to do it all isn't necessary, in the beginning. Figure out what works really well for you right now and stick to that, and perfect the hell out of it. At times, it will take some trial and error to figure out what works. Maybe FB works better for you at promoting instead of IG. Maybe email marketing is all you need! You never will truly know until you gain clarity and then consistency.
3. Make a COMMITMENT to do whatever it takes to achieve your big goals
Make a commitment to you and your business. When the road gets tough, don't give up. You've put your plan in place and you have gained some clarity on what it is that your business needs, now commit to that. Create weekly commitments to getting the job done.
4. Never STOP LEARNING
Never stop learning new facets of your business, your competitors, or even new platforms. Technology is constantly changing. We love watching videos on YOUTUBE and Linkedin Learning to learn new ways to engage with our target market. We also like to check out our competitors, we want to know what's working for them and why. This gives us insight into the market. So continue to make sure that you are at the forefront of change. Change doesn't mean to completely change your brand or even your system. It means to evolve with the times so your client is always receiving the best.
5. Being YOU is your SECRET
Your secret touch is YOU. There is no other you out there. So show your clients who you are! Wear your products and show them, talk about why you created your brand. Be visible! Being your authentic self in your business is what people want to see. That's what they want to buy. Everyone is looking for someone to believe in. So why not let it be you.
