Love begins in the brain
As we finish up the last 5 months of 2020 we have all faced that COVID has brought upon many losses. Since the pandemic, our lives have changed and caused our brain to stress physically, socially, and economically. Which brings me to something new I learned called Broken Heart Syndrome. I was surprised to learn of this myself, Broken Heart Syndrome has been on the rise since COVID. So what exactly is Broken Heart Syndrome? Broken Heart Syndrome is a condition in which intense emotional or physical stress can cause rapid and severe heart muscle weakness (cardiomyopathy). Although there is no medical treatment for this syndrome. We recommend talking with your medical provider about recent changes with your emotional moods or behaviors. One way that can help is to try to relax. We have listed a few tips below that can help you during a time that you may not feel at your best.
1. Deep breathing 2. Take a walk in the park and connect with nature 3. Meditate 4. Find a new hobby 5. Hang out and connect with friends 6. Talk with someone
Remember, that during this time of so much uncertainty and rapid changes, It’s ok to feel like things are not going as planned. Most of us around the world globally have been affected by the loss of something. Some of us have lost jobs, homes, relationships, and even loved ones.
. Know that this too shall pass!!
