Only if you live in a bubble will you not be familiar with the word podcast. And chances are you have your iPhone in your bubble and will have listened to at least one lol...... Over 197 million Americans have heard about a podcast. So if you're not familiar get ready to jump on the train.
Well, I can tell you about my first time hearing about a podcast it was the Joe Budden Show. I tuned in as a friend suggested, to get my mind off my long commute traveling from store to store in my car. After laughing and hearing Joe Budden the host of the show keep it real and was spilling the tea of "men secrets" that only they would share in a barbershop amongst other men, I was hooked. I began my quest to search for some of my favorites authors, actresses, motivational speakers, and reality tv personality to see if they had a podcast. Nine times of out Ten they had a podcast or was least a guest on a podcast.
What I found the most intriguing about the world of podcasting is that it allowed me to see the vulnerable side, the realness, the unapologetic side that the world of podcasting gives you the freedom to do so. Listening to a podcast is a way for me to fill my cup on so many levels. My mommy moments of needing some encouragement as a mom raising teens that sometimes I just needed to hear an outlet from other mothers. I discovered R C Blakes needing to be preached too, but not too preachy. Mike Tyson 'Hotboxin' yes he's a philosopher in my eyes always making me feel like a champ and giving me the feeling I can do anything if I want it bad enough!
How many of us can say we have more in common and can see we're more relatable to the people we see on T.V, our favorite athlete, or anyone intriguing for that matter. That is what the world of podcasts has opened up to me.
So if you haven't already downloaded the app that's free on your phone I encourage you to delve in and beware it's addictive! It will be your morning cup of coffee in the car while your commuting to work. It will be your alone time when you need some relaxation from the world, it will be your motivation when you need to hear something uplifting or even you will find a new set of girlfriends that you can tune in to listen to and be apart of every week.
